Lipedema is a chronic disorder of fat distribution that predominantly affects women and is often associated with tenderness, pain and disproportionate fat accumulation in the legs and/or arms. Liposuction represents an effective treatment option for appropriately selected patients. The aim is to remove the affected fatty tissue in a targeted and tissue-sparing manner. The appropriate treatment depends on the individual findings, stage of the condition and the patient’s expectations.
